The College and Career Readiness unit provides leadership, oversight, professional development and policy guidance to local community colleges and community-based organizations regarding literacy education. These literacy education programs include Adult Basic Education (ABE), English as a Second Language (ESL), and Adult Secondary Education (ASE).
ASE
Adult Secondary Education (ASE) is a free program of instruction (9.0 grade level and above or the equivalent) designed to prepare adults for further education or transition toward skill obtainment and employment. Adult Secondary Education includes the Adult High School (AHS) Diploma program and the High School Equivalency (HSE) Diploma program.
