A comprehensive team effort between our College and Career Readiness Program, Continuing Education Program Managers and Academic Program Chairs have been part of the planning to make sure we offered strong Career Pathways that have high job growth potential in the Rowan and Cabarrus area. Many industries are moving to our area, and they will be seeking individuals with these certifications.
At this expo, six certifications were presented to the students in attendance. These include Auto Safety Inspection, Basic Forklift Operator, Certified Billing and Coding, Pharmacy Technician, Cisco Technology, and American Welding Society Basic Welding Technology.
Following the Pathways presentations, students were able to talk to the program chairs to decide which Pathway was right for them. Then they proceeded to the Registration table and were able to register in Destiny One and access scholarships to pay for these Continuing Education Courses through the R3 Center. A Career Pathway Expo is being planned for the spring where we hope to add more pathways to help make students more marketable in our ever-changing workforce.
