The Fundamentals of Teaching Adult Learners Part II Credential Course Begins April 7, 2025

(Scholarship Application will open on February 24, 2025 and close on March 28, 2025 or before if the course reaches capacity.)

The The Fundamentals of Teaching Adult Learners Part II Credential is a ten-week online asynchronous course with scheduled assignments due every week. Topics include:

• Contextualizing Instruction for Adult Learners

• NCCC Adult Ed Content Standards

• Lesson Planning

• Standards-Aligned Instruction

• Interactive and Engaging Adult Ed Teaching Techniques

• Strategies for Developing Content and Language Development

Description

The credentialing courses and credentialing process funded through the NC Community Colleges System are accessible to all full or part-time Title II instructors or community-based volunteers. The Fundamentals of Teaching Adult Learners Part I Credential, ASE Language Arts, ASE Math, The Fundamentals of Teaching Adult Learners Part II, and The Fundamentals of Teaching ESL Part I courses are offered 100% online via the NC Title II Moodle Portal.

All prospective participants of these credentialing courses must complete an application for a scholarship to participate in the course.

Scholarship applicants must commit to spending approximately three hours per week completing the required assignments by the weekly due date. Applicants must also commit to completing the course by the course end date.

Once an instructor has discussed their professional development goals with their program director, they may submit a scholarship application.
