My name is Alfredo Thielen, I lived in Venezuela until June 2022 when we immigrated to the United States due to the political, social and economic crisis that Venezuela has gone through during the last 20 years.

I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration in my home country, with experience in business management and direction and for 27 years I held different positions in the sales area, reaching management positions in important food companies.

In 2015, my wife and I made the decision to immigrate to the United States and began to prepare; so, I studied and graduated as an International Chef and Bakery Technician and took many courses that helped me complement my studies.

Upon arriving in Hickory, I worked from Jul – Nov 2022 at Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, working in the bakery area, preparing different products for the restaurant’s daily consumption.
In December 2022 | started working at Design Foundry in the receiving area and currently I coordinate the unloading of the material that arrives at the company. I have had the opportunity to implement material reception monitoring controls and organize the warehouse storage floor.
My English instructor at Caldwell Community College told me that I could earn a credential in Warehouse, Inventory, and Logistics while I was in class to improve my English. This course helped me understand more about different types of warehouses, their equipment and workflows in each of them. I gained knowledge of new words that are used in warehouses, about the importance of maintaining a good inventory system and how to better manage and distribute physical storage space.

The information provided is sufficient about what should and should not happen in a warehouse.
Personally, having taken this course provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage and optimize the flow of goods and services from origin to end consumer. I gained tremendous knowledge that I will use in my line of work.

At work, I received recognition from my bosses for having taken the course and I am currently being presented with new opportunities to apply for better jobs and continue training in new courses.
