Kristin Erhard has been selected as the 2024 North Carolina State Advocate for Adult Education Fellow. In her role with COABE’s State Advocates for Adult Education Fellowship (SAAEF), Kristin will be provided with training and mentorship to promote adult education awareness and access at local, state, and national levels. To do so, she will collaborate with state leaders and fellow advocates nationwide to educate funders, the public, and stakeholders about the value and importance of adult education by highlighting adult learners’ achievements and improving recognition for the work of adult educators. Kristin will lead our state’s participation in National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week in September 2024.
COABE has run the State Advocates for Adult Education Fellowship since 2021, but North Carolina did not have representation in the program until 2023 when Nicole Worley at Richmond Community College became NC’s first SAAEF Fellow. We’re thrilled for Kristin to pick up the torch and continue advocacy for adult education in our state and in the nation!
